New Look, New Features!

Hi everybody and welcome to Faculte’s new and improved Broadcast Studio!

We have made some large and many minor changes to the Studio, all aiming to make it more functional, easy and fun. Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:

UI Enhancements

We improved the overall look of the Studio from subtle shading all the way to new icons and buttons. Best of all, we completely renovated the player to make your Broadcast have a true video-like experience. When you preview your Broadcast while editing, you’ll see the new player in action.

We also placed some features in different menus to make navigating the Studio much easier.

Preferences is in the bottom right corner

Preferences menu

Preview is in the upper right corner (alongside preview are two new buttons Save Draft and Publish, we’ll get to them in a second)

Library is now reserved solely for your previously created Broadcasts while a new section called Files gives you access to your images, video, audio and documents.

New Features

We added some new features to our Studio Producer that let you do so much more with your content:

Save Draft vs Publish – Now you can work on a draft and make edits to a published broadcast and save without the changes being immediately reflected. If you want your changes to “go live”, just click the publish button.

Attachments - You can now attach files to your broadcast, and your viewer may download them.

Attachment

Scrolling - You are able to select a scroll option for larger images or documents, allowing your viewer the ability to scroll through a pdf or snapshot of a website. Best of all, when producing, you can even scroll them while narrating and annotating. Save Draft and Publish – You can now save a draft of your working copy before publishing the changes

Customize Share – When published, you can customize how you would like to share the broadcast, for example:

Annotate over video and audio - You may now draw with a pen over video and audio clips while they are playing. That’s my favorite enhancement!

Display modes - When you add an image, a document page, or a video to a page, you now have easy options for its placement on the stage or inside a layout frame: fit, fill and crop, or fill and scroll. Of course you can always have the “custom” option for free-form placement, rotation, and cropping.

Duplicate Broadcasts – You can make a copy of a broadcast with a single click and start modifying it right away!

Broadcast It! – Every video or document you upload can be placed in a broadcast by simply clicking on a “broadcast it” icon next to the file thumbnail in My Desk->Files

Enhancements to Existing Features

Enhanced themes - Not only are we providing more themes , but you can now customize a theme’s background and font style to match your preferences.

Enhanced behavior of layouts – You will have to try it for yourself!

Enhanced background images – You can fit an image to the stage size, or you can place it in the corners allowing you to brand the stage with your logo

Duplicate Pages – It’s now much simpler to add new pages or duplicate pages with one click.

And many, many more….

New Help System and Tutorials

We have a whole new help section. The button is in the top right corner of our website when you are logged in. The help section is full of entertaining Broadcasts that show you all our features and gives you an idea of what you can do with the Broadcast Studio

These are some of the main changes to the studio. If you’re curious about the rest, feel free to go try it out for yourself! We are also releasing more exciting new features in 2 weeks, so stay tuned!
